It's well written, self-contained, and hardly any background is needed on the subject to approciate the art of calculus of variation. Many illustrative examples are worked out in clear details. A great book to read to get into the subject -- and check out the price too....

The technique of Euler-Lagrange multipliers is clearly illuminated with numerous detailed and worked out examples. The proofs can be a little sketchy in some parts, but the emphasis is on developing the idea behind the method, not necessarily formalism. The best part of this text is the highly detailed examples that sometimes occupy four pages.

A book you will have a hard time putting down for sure!!!

This book is based in Australia it really make you want to visit and see the beauty that is described in the book. In the book Kate seems to have everything going for her, she is a nurse and she loves her job she has great family and friends and a boyfriend who she is madly in love with. When she gets a shock of her life her first thing to do is run. She runs for anything and everything that seems not familiar. She meets Joel and becomes friends with him he is hide a secret and he to in his heart and mind is running from something, but doesn’t seem to realize it until Kate falls into his world.
I will stay this I wish the book had to prospective from it not just one (back and forth between what the guy was thinking to what the girl was thinking). At the beginning I felt like it seem a little all over the place, however that quickly changed. The book keeps you guessing and you really do find yourself drawn in and wanting to know what’s going to happen and what’s happening. I love how the book had a lot of heart and that the storyline over all was really good and well written. This book will not disappoint at some point I thought the book was winding down only to have a curve ball thrown in. If you are looking for a really cute love story with a little bit of action this is the one for you, you won’t regret it.

Wanting more from a promising author

I wanted more from this book. I wanted to give it a three stars, but I couldn't. The storyline was mostly enjoyable, I liked Kate and Joel well enough. I really liked the Australian scenery the author painted. I didn't cope well with the abundance of telling that happening in the first 10% of the book. It was very slow to get moving and I wanted more dialogue, more showing me the emergency situations rather than telling me about them. At times the book felt choppy and it was unclear to me where the story was going. I wanted to like it so much, but I couldn't quite get there. I would love to see more from this promising author in the future and I hope the next book I read will be more engaging.

Rural romance is one of my absolute favourite sub-genres of romance fiction, and I’m happy as a pig in mud when I get my hand on a good medical romance. Rural medical romance? Get it in my eyeballs now!

I have been seeing news about Nicki Edwards’ debut release from Momentum, Intensive Care, for quite a while now – and with it being a rural-set medical romance, I was super-keen to read it. Well worth the wait, I can tell you.

So, what did I think of Intensive Care?

Kate is a fabulous heroine. She’s relatable, real and flawed. I love that she was impulsive, yet not foolish, and that she was not afraid to make some very tough choices. I can see that certain actions she takes in the course of the early part of the story might be a little difficult for some to get, however when you read on (as you very well should), it will become entirely clear that this is the only way she could have done it. There is an element of Kate in every woman.

The relationship that develops between Kate and the handsome café owner Joel is really lovely. Nicki has allowed their romance to develop, rather than rushing them into instalove. Both have been through the wringer, relationship-wise, and there are speed bumps along the way after they meet, so I appreciated that they didn’t jump into each other’s pants inside a week.

Nicki Edwards has captured the life and spirit of the rural setting beautifully, and doesn’t shy away from the tough stuff. There are moments in Intensive Care that will give you a chuckle, others that might just break your heart, however every moment comes together to make a fantastic story. The supporting cast of characters in any story are important, and those in Intensive Care add a real richness to Kate and Joel’s journey.

I am very much looking forward to more from Nicki Edwards, because on the strength of this debut, there is some fabulous stuff to come!

I have to give credit to Mr. Collings. He has managed to hook me completely with this series. And yes, I am going to ultimately end up paying the full price of a hardcover book to get to the end of this series. Don't care - it's worth it. It is just a wonderfully fun, funny and inventive zombie/alien series. I actually enjoyed this installment more than some of the previous ones, despite the longer wait for its release. And it was a longer wait. I had to actually go back and reread installment 5 because I forgot some what occurred.

I felt I actually did get some answers in this installment - and some unexpected and nice twists as well. Looking forward to the next installment.

Excellent Fast Paced Zombie-Munching Fun

Michaelbrent Collings did it again!

He created a fast-paced ride through an even faster collapsing world and left me dangling wanting more.

I did feel the story was a bit TOO fast and far too short. There were some things that I think could have slowed down and been developed more, rather than to put out a book to feed the fans who have been waiting. Some things were expected, but there were some twists there that had me hanging on to every word.

Will I buy #7? Yes indeed. Michaelbrent Collings is one of my favorite authors and honestly? Your fans can wait an extra month or two or three to really put some "meat" in the story!

Fast paced. Not predictable. Omg I could not put it down. When does the next book in this series come out? Not your normal zombies here. More like zombies on steroids. The only thing I didn't like was it wasn't long enough. I gave it a five because all I could think about was when was the next time I would have time to finish the book. I made time. Highly recommend for horror, zombie, action lovers.
